Javier Melero es doctor en Informática, profesor de la Universidad de Granada e investigador del Instituto Andaluz de Inteligencia Artificial (DaSCI). Forma parte del Skål Granada.
Con más de 20 años de experiencia investigadora y profesional en el ámbito de las nuevas tecnologías aplicadas al patrimonio cultural y el turismo como profesor de la Universidad de Granada, forma parte de las comisiones de Smart Cities y de la de Inteligencia Artificial de la patronal tecnológica AMETIC, así como del grupo de trabajo CNT 178 que elaboró la norma UNE 178508 de apps turísticas.
Es co-fundador de Smart Tourism Technologies, empresa tecnológica colaboradora de la Red de Destinos Turísticos Inteligentes.
Con Aumentur, su solución para el turismo inteligente, resultó ganadora en 2023 de los premios AMT Destination Awards de FITUR como mejor solución tecnológica para la interacción entre el destino y el visitante, y en 2024 de los Startup Awards del Tourism Innovation Summit.
Aumentur acompaña al visitante durante su estancia en el destino, descubriéndole mediante todo tipo de recursos multimedia y sistemas inteligentes, la cultura, el patrimonio y la naturaleza del lugar en su propio dispositivo móvil. Es ese acompañante que, gracias a la geolocalización y la accesibilidad, responde a las preguntas "¿qué ver?" y "¿qué hacer?" en cualquier destino.

Javier Melero holds a PhD in Computer Science, is a professor at the University of Granada, and a researcher at the Andalusian Institute of Artificial Intelligence (DaSCI). He is a member of Skål Granada.
With over 20 years of research and professional experience in the field of new technologies applied to cultural heritage and tourism as a professor at the University of Granada, he is part of the Smart Cities and Artificial Intelligence commissions of the technological employer AMETIC, as well as a member of the CNT 178 working group that developed the UNE 178508 standard for tourism apps.
He is co-founder of Smart Tourism Technologies, a technology company collaborating with the Spanish Network of Smart Tourist Destinations (Red DTI) thanks to its solution Aumentur.
Aumentur was the winner in 2023 of the AMT Destination Awards at FITUR as the best technological solution for interaction between the destination and the visitor, and in 2024 were designated winners of the Startup Awards at the Tourism Innovation Summit in Seville.
Aumentur accompanies visitors during their stay at the destination, helping them discover the culture, heritage and nature of the place on their own mobile device through all kinds of multimedia resources and intelligent triggers. It is that digital friend that, thanks to geolocation and accessibility, answers the questions "what to see?" and "what to do?" at any destination.
